I’ll be in the Seattle area from Aug 1 to Aug 10. I have to spend a couple days at work but otherwise we’re open to ideas, things to do, neighborhoods to check out, etc
Work is in Fed Way so we’re obviously not staying anywhere near there - we’re camping at
Mt. Baker
Beckler River. But I wanna spend time looking at some of the neighborhoods around Fed Way to see where we want to move
Anyhow keep an eye out for the rig above

Here’s a recent post from me asking the same thing with some responses (we just had a single free day and have been to Seattle a couple of times before, so previously had hit the “standard” tourist things like the Space Needle, Chihuly garden, Pike Place Market, and the Piers). We ended up spending several hours at the Boeing Museum of Flight thanks to a couple of people suggesting it and absolutely loved it - if you like that stuff, I highly recommend it.

Coming here to post a much shorter and less funny version of this. Hardsided pop-up campers always look funky, but they’re ingenious.

I always wanted one. I’m still quite pleased that it’s our first camper
The only thing that really sucks about ‘em is a decided lack of storage space. A two week trip is really going to push the limits

Nothing a few Rubbermaid storage bins in the truck bed can’t solve, right?

Yup. Hoping I can get my hands on a tonneau before the trip - I’d love to have the generator, associated liquids, and some storage bins stowed safely and away from prying eyes / hands

Wait, you’re planning to use Mt. Baker as a base to explore Federal Way? Mt. Baker is 20 miles from the Canadian border. That’s like 150 miles and two million commuters from Federal Way. I mean, you should totally go to Mt. Baker, it’s beautiful, but...what?

Well I guess I’m not at Mt. Baker; we’re staying at the Beckler River campgrounds. It’s in Mt. Baker Snoqualmie nat’l forest, but a hell of a lot further south than the mountain itself. Right outside Skykomish
But we’re staying there because I don’t like to camp near people / population centers.

Well that makes a lot more sense although it’s still really goddamn far. But you’ll get a realistic sense of our lovely traffic.
Meanwhile, I don’t know shit about Federal Way or its environs but if you’re going to be in Seattle get in touch!

We’ll definitely be heading into Seattle; gotta do at least a couple of the touristy things before we become residents :) I also want to see how tough it is to navigate the city in the truck
